MusicEdTech (Music Education Technology) is a private project by Barbara Freedman to provide information and educational material on using technology to teach, learn, and create. Applications are aimed at music and other technologies including learning management systems (LMS), and multimedia tools for all educators in all disciplines. Materials are developed for in-service & pre-service educators, administrators, boards of education, and secondary level students.

Internationally acclaimed technology educator, speaker, and author, Dr. Barbara Freedman is an engaging and effective presenter and trainer with expertise in multimedia course design and technology integration in digital learning environments for face-to-face, synchronous, asynchronous, and hybrid across content areas. Celebrated as a teacher's teacher, Barbara has developed courses and trained educators in public and private K-12 districts, tertiary institutions, nonprofit organizations, and private industry.

Named the 2012 National TI:ME Technology Teacher of the Year, Dr. Barbara Freedman has been teaching Electronic Music & Audio Engineering at Greenwich High School in Connecticut since 2001 and is the author of the book "Teaching Music Through Composition: A Curriculum Using Technology" published by Oxford University Press. She is a technology trainer, professional development leader, graduate course instructor, and consultant to schools and districts seeking to create technology labs and integrate technology into curricula. 

Barbara has served on the music technology education advisory boards for MusicFirst, Spotify, and the International Baccalaureate Organization, and is the Co-President of the Connecticut Chapter of TI:ME.

She holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Music in Performance from Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music, City University of New York, and Professional Studies Diploma from the Mannes College of Music. She studied conducting at the Hartt School of Music, Westminster Choir College, and The Juilliard School. Barbara holds a Ph.D. in Learning Technologies from the University of North Texas. She specialized in multimedia instruction in digital learning environments and trains teachers of all subjects in utilizing a variety of digital learning and teaching technologies. Barbara's philosophy is that technology is a tool only to be utilized if it makes learning easier or more engaging for both the student and the teacher. Best known as a music technology educator and trainer, Barbara's motto, "Teach music. The technology will follow." has become the rallying cry for music technology teachers around the world.
