Teaching Music with Logic

This course is about teaching more advanced music and composition skills using Logic.

Logic is Apple’s advanced professional level software. It is one of the most widely used composition and audio editing programs by professionals and amateurs alike. If you can imagine something to do with or to music, Logic can help you get it done. This course takes up where the GarageBand course leaves off. It will give you hands on experience with Logic and how to use it to teach music through composition. Techniques on use of the software, lesson plans on more advanced composition and theory skills, techniques for weaving in music history and how to integrate music of other cultures will be discussed. You will leave with lesson plans that teaches composition and theory skills for beginning students to be successful composers and creators of music. No prior knowledge of Logic or any other music program is required.

This course is offered online with both live webinars and offline lessons and assignments. Assignments simulate student assignments in the lesson plans to demonstrate content and technical proficiency. Participants will share work and comment on other participants work via our online, secure classroom.

This course is for in-service & pre-service secondary music teachers and education technology teachers.
